Supportive Housing Improving Foster Transition (SHIFT) is a nonprofit organization born out of a desire to share love to those who are walking a path that is largely paved with the decisions of others. There are young adults in our community who have never known or have seen very little of what it looks like to be a part of a safe and stable family. The examples they have seen of love are distorted and painful. Not only do they enter young adulthood without resources or support from a dependable safety net, but they are often carrying with them scars from a childhood that has hurt them more than has prepared them for life. We aim to provide affordable housing and support that will guide them to forge a new path, paved with their own decisions to overcome and to write a better story for themselves. We believe in a God who restores and redeems, and it is with humility that we hope to see God work through SHIFT to write a redemption story for every individual we have the privilege of serving.
